Social Media Plan

First Social Media Platform Utilized

The first objective would be to increase general awareness of the clinic with social media posts, as evident via questionnaires performed in October 2024 vs December 2024, by the end of 2024. The second objective would be to have a 10% volume increase of volunteers for the clinic by December 2024. To further accomplish these goals, social media can be utilized to further target the intended audience. I chose Instagram and Twitter to advertise the clinic. I chose these two formats because Instagram is used by many a large range of ages, although primarily younger people. While Twitter is primarily used by older people, it is also still being utilized by younger people. I felt like using these two platforms covered a large age range of people and may attract different groups of people.

Instagram
I think pulling information straight from the IUSOC’s website and sharing more initial information would be most beneficial for people to get to know the clinic and what services are offered. And because the younger generation uses Instagram primarily, we would also share the school of IUI that collaborates with the clinic in hopes to gain new volunteers.

X (formally Twitter)
As previously mentioned, Twitter is mainly utilized by the older generations thus I would try to build an emotional attachment to the clinic and share statistics on how the clinic is helping people. I would share the following snapshots from the clinics website as media on Twitter with captions that relate to the content and encourage the audience to click on the linked IUSOC website to review more information.

Second Social Media Platform Utilized

I would regularly post differing content on the two platforms and alter to content based on what would be most successful based on how previous posts perform. On Instagram, regular stories, posts, and reels can be utilized to inform and grow the audience that can benefit from the clinic. I would share testimonies from the neighbors that have benefited from the services, and the volunteers who have been personally helpful to successfully helping the neighbors. On Twitter, I think it would be more appropriate to share infographics and statistics of how the clinic has grown and continued to help the communities' neighbors- again, with the intent to alter content based off what is performing the most successfully.
