Public Relations Plan
Two Media Exposure Ideas
1. "Famous" endorsement
2. Bring services to the students
I think if those in the community could hear a personal story from someone who has benefited from the clinic and is willing to share their story. It would be even more meaning if it came from a popular football or basketball player for IU shared how they benefited from the clinic. To present this story, a press release to the students at the university sharing their story would increase awareness of the clinic and add a positive connotation to the work the clinic offers. When someone the IU students, and those of Indianapolis, hear a testimony from someone they admire, they may be more likely to be persuaded. If the client stresses how the volunteers impacted their story, those who listen to the press release and are able to volunteer their time, may be more inclined to do so.
Secondly, a free clinic in the campus center offering the services the student outreach clinic offers with volunteers from the university, will bring interventions to the campus center and make them more accessible and informative for the services offered. We can provide information to the students to inform them and encourage them to spread awareness of the clinic, and access who is willing to volunteer and collect their information. They can get a better understanding of the clinic, all while providing care to students in need.
If we shared information with local pharmacies regarding the services the clinic offers, we may also be able to offer services to more of the community.
